AdSense Terms and Conditions

But before we go happily placing our Google AdSense ads, it’s important that we understand their Terms of Service.

Generally Terms and Conditions are quite boring. We often scroll down the long page and hit “Yeah I accept”. If that’s you (like most) then this post is for you – it’s important we understand the TOS so we don’t get our AdSense accounts banned.

Invalid Clicks

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT click on your own ads. Do NOT encourage others to click on your ads. If your intentions were to setup your blog so your Aunt Peggy can sit on your site all day and click your ads – forget it! You’re going to get your account terminated.

Do NOT encourage your audience to click on your ads. Attempting to be slick with your ad links and say, “click these ads” or “support us” is a good way to get the boot.

Ad Placement

There are several types of ads that Google AdSense allows you to place on your site. We’ll learn more about these as we go but for now, remember these guidelines:

1.) Up to three ad units may be displayed on each page.
2.) A maximum of two Google AdSense for search boxes on a page.
3.) Up to three link units per page.
4.) Up to three referral units per page, in addition to the options above.

This site is dedicated to generating money from our blog legitimately. This is a great program and the fact that it’s free really presents an excellent opportunity for everyone. Let’s keep it that way.

Remember, this is an abridged version that touches on the highlights so you don’t fall asleep while drinking your coffee. But I encourage you to read the Terms and Conditons and the Program Policies in their entirety so you’re equipped with the proper knowledge. Heck, I’ll even provide the links on my sidebar in addition to this blog so we can all stay informed!

Where to place Google ads on my pages?

The best location for Google ads varies from page to page, depending on content. Here are a few questions to ask yourself when considering where to position your ads:
  • What is the user trying to accomplish by visiting my site?
  • What do they do when viewing a particular page?
  • Where is their attention likely to be focused?
  • How can I integrate ads into this area without getting in the users' way?
  • How can I keep the page looking clean, uncluttered and inviting?
Certain locations tend to be more successful than others. This "heat map" illustrates the ideal placing on a sample page layout. The colors fade from dark orange (strongest performance) to light yellow (weakest performance). All other things being equal, ads located above the fold tend to perform better than those below the fold. Ads placed near rich content and navigational aids usually do well because users are focused on those areas of a page.
Because browsers and screen sizes vary, we've also created a handy tool that allows you to enter any URL, and check whether you've implemented your ads above the fold.
While this heat map is useful as a positioning guideline, we strongly recommend putting your users first when deciding on ad location. Think about their behavior on different pages, and what will be most useful and visible to them. You'll find that the most optimal ad position isn't always what you expect on certain pages.
For example, on pages where users are typically focused on reading an article, ads placed directly below the end of the editorial content tend to perform very well. It's almost as if users finish reading and ask themselves, "What can I do next?" Precisely targeted ads can answer that question for them.

Adsense Faq

!!You need to know , never click your own adsense ever in life!!

How to create adsense account?

It's time to get signed up with Google's Adsense and hopefully start making some money!

Like everything up to this point  AdSense is 100% free. So head on over to the Google AdSense home page.

Now simply fill out the fields provided.

Google states that they can take anywhere from 2 days to a week for approval. Google's AdSense Help Center does a great job of answering all frequently asked questions. Now that we have an account we'll be able to put the ads on our blog page!

What is AdSense?

In the Getting Started series of articles (links on the right side of this page, if you missed them - shame on you), we learned a little bit about AdSense. We learned that Google AdSense could help us earn money from blogging.

AdSense is a free Google program that allows site owners to earn money from ads. What's great about these ads is that they're targeted to your content. The AdSense actually "crawls" your text and from there determines what ads are best suited for your website. How cool is that? So if you have a blog about cars, well you're going to get ads targeting car subjects.

Well that's fine but how do we generate money off of these ads?

I'm glad you asked. The answer is both simple and complex. I'll keep this article simple and save the complex for the future. But in a nutshell - you make money from people who click on your AdSense ads. That's it! Really!

But users have to purchase something on the advertising site before we make money, right?

No! That's what makes this program wonderful. Google's business model is brilliant - they help people make money, while making more money in the process. In layman terms: the advertisers pay Google to promote; when a user from your site clicks their ad the advertiser wins (they get additional traffic, possibly more business), Google wins (they get a big piece of the advertisers money they used to promote), and we win (we get a small piece but it's a piece that will add up over time... more on that in future articles).

There's a reason why Google is the Internet giant and AdSense is a perfect example. It's a snowball effect that helps all participants involved: Google, the advertiser, and most importantly… You!

Where’s the Money in Blogging?

The money’s not in your archives.

The money’s not in your Technorati rank.

The money’s not in your Google juice.

The money’s not in being on the A-List.

The money’s not in AdSense.

There is money in page views at this point, but you’ll need a whole, whole bunch of them (which means you’ll need a whole, whole bunch of return visits).

Since the old days of mail order sales, magazine subscriptions, and all the way up to permission email marketing, there’s a saying that remains true, even for bloggers.

The money’s in the list.
But blogging actually provides so much more than a simple subscriber list of people to market to. Blogging allows for interactive relationships that force you to be your best, all while allowing your message to spread virally.

So, when it comes to blogging…
The money’s in your fan club.
Sound like the start of a new tutorial, right?
And this one is soooo money.

Increase Blog Traffic

Rule #1. Write an article on "how to explode blog traffic !!!"
Rule #2. Read on

To be very frank there are quite a bit of so called tried and tested ways to increase you blog traffic, but these merely focus on increasing hits on your blog, but do not focus on the main reason why you want more traffic viz. to read what you write and keep coming back for more.

Sites such as Blogexplosion.com do deliver on their hits, but sadly most of these hits stay for a maximum of 30 secs only, after which they click on the next blog to increase their traffic.
That brings us back to the topic, What can really be done? Is there a way out? How do i make myself heard above the din?

Well, here are some tips for starters.

1. Write. Write stuff. Write stuff people like to read. Most often blogs end up being abused by people who think the world is waiting to know what happens to them every second (I don't deny them this right...they have it!), however the same thing can be presented in a way that forces the reader to continue reading. Simple check! read as though you didn't write it. Funny? worth posting? go ahead post.

2. Make friends.I don't mean going around shaking hands with people and expect a sudden spurt in your traffic, instead post reciprocal links on your blog. Yes people do read others links and if you are there, people will visit your blog. Its an easy way to piggyback on some good blogs.

3. Articles!!!!Take some of your posts, tweak them a bit, add a snazzy caption and Presto! you have your own article ready. Now take that article and post it all around you (on the net please....i don't expect people to walk around with faces stuck with paper muffling away....thish is smy aaarticle!). There are quite a list of websites that do this.

4. Check your Site title and description ( I think this should have come in second in order....lets just forget the order for now)Get a cool title something that makes people go, "oooohh thats hhhhhhooooootttttttt" (if not that much atleast.......a "i think this might be interesting"). And remember to give a matching description (the funnier the better). This will also help you get better results on search engines.

5. Submit to Blog Search engines. Most people search for blogs not on the major search engines, but on blog search engines. So make sure your blog has been submitted to these engines. The more the merrier. Search on google for blog search engines and submit your blog to all of these.

6. PHOTOS ROCK!!!!Face it, most people do search blogs to see something interesting and what best but a photo to give them a 24million color view of something. Yes photos rock, and they do bring in traffic. It kinda gives a coolness to your site. Its like wearing colors while everyone else is in uniform. Most blogging providers support photoblogging, but if you need a place to host photos photobucket.com is a place as good as any.

7. Get original ! Showing others content may bring people to your site, but it would not make them stay. all they would say is . ...."another smartass trying to keep his blog updated by somebody else's work". So keep the blog original with what you would like to say.

8. Publicize!!!I am not talking about banner exchanges ( not only do give free advertising on your site, you also have to put up with ugly graphics that can be out of place on your beautiful site.) Think up creative ways. Get a bumper sticker on your car, your boss's car, your company delivery truck...the works. Another easier option, get it on your company's email signature or atleast on yours.

9. Evangelize!!! No i am not a religious nut and i'm not expecting you to be one. Write stuff that would make people go on and talk about you without you threatening them or paying them. And refer to "the blog" in common discussions, parties etc.... wherever you find people.

10. Ok so you got so far.......on more important thing.Don't expect to find any of the above on my blog, the only reason being, i don't need to explode my blog traffic !!!!

What is RSS?

Making money to blog requires a vast array of knowledge. Of course you need a blog to get started, and then you’ll integrate some ad services like AdSense and WidgetBucks. These ad services will help us generate money with our blogs, but without the readers there is no money. RSS plays a big role in building our fan base.

Ok great, so what exactly does RSS stand for and why should I care?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. When you create a new post with Blogger it publishes a new RSS “feed”, which is simply a stripped down version of your website. It contains the basic text and any images you display.

I don’t get it. What’s so good about a stripped down version of my site?

In today’s ADD, news-hungry society, RSS has exploded in popularity. People want as much information as they can get their hands on, with as little effort as possible.

With RSS comes “Feed readers” like Google Reader. These applications allow readers to “consume” or subscribe to your sites feed. When you post a new article, the user is alerted. The great thing about these feed readers or RSS readers is that they provide a quick list of your article subjects. So instead of being overwhelmed with a page load of content, they can simply scan for subjects that interest them and then drill down further if they wish.

I’m starting to get this RSS thing… but maybe you can create some analogy for me to make it clearer?

Boy you sure do ask for a lot. Ok – here goes: Let’s say you go to the store and purchase a magazine on computer software. Chances are good that you will flip open a page and have a subscription card fall on to your lap. For this example, let’s pretend it’s a subscription to the latest Microsoft news. Well, if you like Microsoft and you care about their news (I’m an Apple guy by the way) you’ll fill out their card, write a check and send it off in the mail. Now the first of every month – you’ll get a brand new magazine from Microsoft and learn about their many failed attempts to beat Apples’ iPod with their Zune (sorry, I just had to throw that in there). And of course if you get tired or the same ol’ same ol’, you can cancel at any time.

RSS is the same way (Minus the paid subscriptions, thankfully). If you run across a site that you find interesting, you can simply subscribe to that sites feed and you’ll be alerted to anything new coming from there. And of course, you can cancel the site feed at any time.

This was an introduction to RSS. In future articles I will discuss ways we can present an RSS feed for our users to consume. In the meantime, digest this information, because RSS is something you need to know about if you’re going to be a serious blogger.

How to create a blog?

There is a wide range of blogging tools out there. Some free, some not. If you haven't noticed, I'm using a tool called: Blogger. Before this I had experimented with Typepad and even created my own (this was a few years ago when the term “Blog” wasn't exactly a household name).

Why Blogger? Well for a few reasons: 1.) It's Free! 2.) It's a breeze to setup and 3.) Google owns it. Yeah, the same Google that's helping us earn money through their AdSense program - A perfect marriage indeed.

Ok, so you have your blog topic (or maybe not but you will soon…right?) I'm going to get you hooked up to the service in no more than 10 minutes (times will vary for animals and small children). At the end of this you'll be ready to start writing up some content, free of charge.

1.) Go to Blogger and sign in with your Google account. If you don't use any Google services like Gmail you can create a new account here.

2.) Click on the “Create Your Blog Now” button arrow on the bottom right and fill in the information.

3.) Name your blog and give it an address. Make sure the name is meaningful and not too long.

4.) Choose from one of the many templates available.

5.) Your blog has been created!

What is a blog?

So you’re interested in making money with AdSense? Well join the club. But before we get to the good stuff, we have to build the foundation. Chances are good that if you’re reading this you know what blogs are and how to create them. Good for you! You’re on the fast track to getting started with AdSense. But patience grasshoppa, we must help those who don’t even know what blogging is.

Here’s the definition of a blog from Wikipedia:

“A blog (a portmanteau of web log) is a website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.”

A blog is basically an online diary - A journal written by an author, about the author and/or the author’s interests. The great thing about a blog is there are no boundaries whatsoever. You can blog about your dog, cat, career, relationships, car, favorite ice cream, etc, etc. You have total control to be as creative as your heart desires!

The important thing about this journey is that you blog about something that matters to you. Different people have different interests and you’re no exception. Chances are good that others just like you are ready to delve into your material because they have similar tastes. Don’t hesitate to write about something you’re passionate about - just do it! (like Nike)

How to Build Traffic To your Blog

With the growing interest in blogging as a means of online promotion and branding, a lot of marketers are starting blogs to promote their opinions, products, books and services.
But a blog is like a website. “Write and they will come” isn’t exactly a magic formula to bring in traffic by the boatload.

If you need to promote your website in order to build traffic to it, you need to promote your blog as well.
Here are some ways you can become a well-read and influential blogger.

1. Write Posts That People Will Want To Read
This should be common sense, but many marketers tend to forget that their readers are real people and that you need to use the principles of online copywriting to make your headlines and copy interesting to your readers.

If you write posts that people enjoy reading, they will reward you by returning to your blog regularly.
Make your posts conversational, pithy and topical. Keep them short and stick to one topic per post.
Write often and regularly so that both readers and search engines visit your blog more often.

2. Optimize Your Posts for Search Engines
I cover this topic in detail in my article on “Search Engine Optimization For Blogs” http://infotechforlife.blogspot.com/2012/02/blogs-seo-tips.html

But here are the most important rules to follow to get your posts listed for keywords of your choice.
* Make sure your blog URL contains the primary keyword you want to optimize for
* Use your primary keywords in the title of your post
* Use your secondary keywords in the body of your post
* Use your keywords in the anchor text of links in the body of your posts

3. Submit Your Blog and RSS Feed To Directories
If you publish a blog you should submit your blog and RSS feed to big directories like Yahoo and Dmoz, as well as the numerous blog directories and search engines.
Here is the best list I’ve found of places to submit your feed or blog, compiled by Luigi Canali De Rossi, who writes under the pseudonym Robin Good.
Best Blog Directory And RSS Submission Sites http://www.masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/
Another list of sites to submit your Blog. http://www.rss-specifications.com/rss-submission.htm

4. Ping The Blog Services
There are a number of services designed specifically for tracking and connecting blogs. By sending a small ping to each service you let them know you’ve updated your blog so they can come check you out.
Bookmark the Ping-O-Matic ping results page so you can visit it and quickly ping a number of services with a single click.
http://pingomatic.com

5. Build Links To Your Blog
I recommend the methods here as the best ways to get links pointing to your blog
* Link to your blog from each page on your main website
* Trackback to other blogs in your posts
* Post legitimate comments on other blogs with related topics
* Offer to exchange links with other similarly themed blogs and websites

6. Edit Your Blog Posts Into Articles
One of the best methods for promoting your website is to write articles and submit them to article directories.

The suggestion for extending this to edit your blog posts into articles and submit them to directories came from the coach at “Explode Blog Traffic” who also has other noteworthy suggestions at his blog here. http://bloghit.blogspot.com/2004/11/how-to-explode-blog-traffic.html
You’ll find an extensive list of article directories here http://ebizwhiz-publishing.com/write-articles/submit-articles.htm

7. Create Buzz About Your Blog
Creating a buzz about your blog posts and topic in the local and online media will give your marketing a viral component.
* Create a controversy around your blog or it’s topic.
* Distribute bumper stickers or other merchandise with your blog’s URL and tagline.
* Write a press release about something newsworthy and tie it in with your blog topic.

8. Capture Subscribers By Email
It may seem strange for a blogger to send out updates by email, but email is still the #1 choice of most people who want to receive news and information.
Using a free service like Bloglet to manage your subscriptions is easy and it allows your subscribers to manage all their subscriptions from one interface. http://www.bloglet.com
However, if you want more control over your list and don’t mind mailing out the updates yourself, you can use an autoresponder system to capture and follow-up with subscribers.
RSS responder is a new script that allows you to keep in touch and follow-up with your subscribers without the hassle of email. http://ebizwhiz-publishing.com/rssresponder.htm

How to Create a websites

Do you want to learn how to build a website for yourself?
Just follow these 5 simple steps to learn how to create a website for yourself:

1- Register A Domain Name
2- Host Your Website
3- Change Name Servers At Domain Registrar
4- Install WordPress CMS In Just A Few Clicks
5- Configure WordPress and Publish Your Website
Yes, it’s that easy. Just follow these 5 given steps, and you can learn how to make a website in no time.

1- Register a Domain Name

A good domain name(www.yourname.com) is a must for any business, or even if you are creating a personal website.

If you have a registered a firm with a name say Stigma Solutions then register a domain name like stigmasolutions.com or stigmasolutions.net

If those names are not available then you can use some stop words like global, online, etc.. Therefore, you can register domain name like stigmasolutionsglobal.com or stigmasolutionsonline.com, etc. You can even add City or State names at the end like stigmasolutiontexas.com. There are a lot of ideas, and you just need to think over what suits your business. You can even register an unrelated name like mycoolwebsite.com
To register a domain visit GoDaddy.com as its the best and most reliable domain registrar in the world, and you can easily register domain name under $12. We register all the domains for our clients through GoDaddy only as we know that our domain names are fully secured with them.

Here are a couple of Godaddy Screenshots showing How to Check Domain Name Availability & Start Domain Registration Process

godaddy-domain-registration.jpg
Screenshot 1 – Check Domain Name Availability at Godaddy Homepage

godaddy-available-domain-name.jpg
Screenshot 2 – After you click on GO button as in Screenshot 1, you will get this screen on next page to complete your order

2- Host Your Website

After you have registered your domain name as in Step1, you need to host your website.
In order to publish your website on WWW(Word Wide Web) you need to purchase a web hosting account so that you can upload your website online. You can even create professional email ids like anthing@yourdomain.com through a web hosting account.

A Company that provides you web hosting service is known as Web Host or Web Hosting Company.
HostGator is one such web hosting company, which is very reliable and offers hosting plans to all types of users. It’s very important to choose a reliable hosting company as if their hosting server goes down then your site will also become offline and your visitors would not be able to open your website which seems to be very embarrassing. So never go for cheap hosting companies as at first it sounds good but in a long run, you will only lose time and money with such cheap hosting companies.

Therefore, we highly recommend HostGator as its trusted by thousands of website owners, and they have a very strong server uptime record, and their support staff too is very friendly and fast.

Step-by-Step with screenshots on How to Buy Web Hosting

3- Change Name Severs At Domain Registrar

After you have purchased Web Hosting Account you need to modify Domain Name Servers at your domain registrar who in our case is GoDaddy.
Once you get Hosting Account Login Information email from Web Hosting Company, i.e. HostGator in our case than in that email you will also find the name server details like:

ns1.hostgator.com
ns2.hostgator.com

NameServers usually start with letters ns like ns1 or ns15 or ns3233, etc and should be two or more NameServers in number. If you are unable to find it then contact your web hosting company through phone or email, and they will inform you the name servers being allotted to your hosting account.

Once you have the Name Servers then login to your GoDaddy Domain control panel from www.GoDaddy.com

godaddy-logged-in.jpg
1- After you are logged in Go to an option on top menu named Domains–> Domain Management
You will get list of all domain names you have registered with Godaddy.

godaddy-change-domain-name-servers-1.jpg
2 – Click on your Domain Name there.

godaddy-set-name-servers-2.jpg
3 - Then on next Page Click on Option Nameservers–> Set Nameservers

godaddy-name-servers-3.jpg

4 - There select the Last option i.e. “I have specific nameservers for my domains.”
Enter the 2 nameservers you got from your web hosting company e.g. Hostgator.

Click Ok.

godaddy-final.jpg

5 - And on next page you will get a confirmation message like:
“Your changes have been submitted.
These changes usually take 2 hours. However, it may take up to 48 hours for these changes to take effect. These time frames are estimates and not guaranteed.”
In case if you are unable to change the Name Servers then just contact GoDaddy, and they will provide you instructions on how to do it.
However, after changing the NameServers, you still need to wait for 24-48 hours for Name Servers to propagate around the world and then only your site could be published online.

4- Install WordPress CMS In Just A Few Clicks

WordPress is a CMS and also a Blogging Platform through which you can easily select design/theme for your website and then create pages for your website and publish it online very easily. In order to install WordPress you need to visit cPanel of your hosting account.

After 24- 48 hours since you have changed Name Servers at your Domain registrar as in Step 3, you would be able to open your cPanel hosting control panel through URL like www.domainname.com/cpanel
In above example replace your domainname.com with the actual domain name you have registered for yourself.

If Name Servers are propagated successfully then you would get a popup at above URL, which will ask for username and password for cPanel.
To get Username and Password check the Account Information Email sent by your web hosting company.
fantastico.jpg
1 - Once you are able to login to Cpanel through www.yourdomain.com/cpanel go to option named Fantastico De Luxe and click on it.
fantastico2.jpg
2 - And on Fantastico page, you will find an option named WordPress under the option “Blogs”.
fantastico3.jpg
3 – Click on WordPress and then click on the link named New Installation that appears thereafter.
fantastico4.jpg
4 - And on Next page select your domain name on which you want to install the WordPress and enter some strong password, your email and other requested details there. You can change those details anytime later too from your WordPress Admin control panel once the installation is complete.
Click on “Install WordPress” button to get the final page.
fantastico5.jpg
5 - Finally click on Finish Installation Button and WordPress will be completely installed on your domain.
So now when you will open www.yourdomain.com then you will find a default WordPress blog page with a text like “Hello World!”, ‘Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post.”.
If you see that then it means you have done everything correctly and WordPress is successfully installed.
Sometimes you would be able to see default WordPress page on www.yourdomain.com after a delay of 15-30 minutes or even one hour or more as it depends on hosting company’s server configuration. However, in HostGator accounts, we usually find it immediately after installation.
You may also try to clear your browser cache and cookies if you are still unable to see default WordPress page on your domain.

5- Configure WordPress And Publish Your Website

After installing the WordPress you need to Configure WordPress, Select Design, input Content for your various Pages and Publish.

- To Configure WordPress you need to login to WordPress admin area from www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin

Replace yourdomain.com with the actual domain name on which you have installed WordPress.
There you can login and configure various settings for your website/blog using Settings option there.

- To Select a design go to option Appearance-> Themes -> Install Themes
In install themes option you can select options like Colours, Design width, Subject, etc. and click on FIND THEMES option to get some cool free themes.
Just select the desired theme and click on Install button and after its installed, just activate it.
If you don’t like the newly installed theme/design then install more themes using the same way.
You can manage(activate/deactivate/delete) all your themes from Appearance-> Themes -> Manage Themes option.

- To Publish: Once you have settled with your dream design then go to option Pages -> Add New
There you can give a Page Title/Heading name in First Box and Page Content in Second Large Box. You can change font, colours, etc. from the toolbar in that box. E.g. your first page can be named as Home that you want to display when someone opens www.yourdomain.com.
Once you are satisfied, you can click on Publish button on the right side to publish that page on your website.

In the same way, you can create other pages for your website like About us, Products and Services, Help, etc.

Once you have created your pages then go to option Settings -> Reading
Under option, Front page displays change the Radio button selection from Your latest posts TO A static page.

In the Front Page option select the Page Name, that you want to display as your homepage i.e. the first page that you want to display when someone opens your website at www.yourdomain.com
